Alkaline hydrolysis (aka aquamation, water cremation, biocremation, or flameless cremation) uses water, temperature, and alkalinity to reduce the body into water. The solid bone particles that remain are much like the ‘ash’ one would receive after a typical cremation.
Alkaline hydrolysis has a much lower carbon footprint than flame cremation.
